Inside Peninsula Prime with Jim Gordon

In this conversation, Jim talks about the work behind Peninsula Prime—the changes made after Jim and Robin took full operational control, what they learned from listening to guests, and why hospitality, quality and community now guide the restaurant.

The discussion gets beyond the menu and into what Jim and Robin are trying to build: a polished neighborhood restaurant where people know each other, regulars feel at home and a great dinner is only part of the reason people come back.

Making Dining More Comfortable for Guests with Sensory Needs

For Jim and Robin, hospitality means paying attention to what individual guests need—not treating everyone exactly the same.

Peninsula Prime has worked to make dining out more comfortable for guests with autism and other sensory sensitivities through sensory kits, visual menus and a team prepared to help families create a dining experience that works for them.

For Jim, this isn't something to turn into a marketing campaign. It's something a restaurant should actually do.

The Story We
Want People
to Hear

For us, Peninsula Prime has always been about more than running a restaurant.

We want the food to be excellent. We want the room to feel good. We want the service to be thoughtful. But what matters most is what happens when all of those things come together and someone leaves feeling like they were genuinely taken care of.

Some of our regulars come back for a favorite dish. Some come back for a favorite bartender or server. Many come back because they know the people here, and we know them.

That's the Peninsula Prime story we're most interested in telling.
